The Rosamunde String Quartet was founded in 2015 so that its members could pursue their passion for the string quartet repertoire. Its members include young stars from three of the world’s greatest orchestras: Noah Bendix-Balgley, 1st concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic; Shanshan Yao, concert violinist and former member of the Pittsburgh Symphony and New York Philharmonic; Teng Li, principal violist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; and Nathan Vickery, cellist in the New York Philharmonic. They take time away from their international careers to create music together. Each member is an accomplished soloist and musician, and brings a unique voice to the ensemble. By uniting their experiences, they create a distinctive sound and unanimity of expression.

Above all, they genuinely enjoy sharing their love of chamber music with each other and with audiences. Listen to "Credo" by Kevin Puts or their Barber Quartet and you'll know why they've been called a Dream Quartet.

The Rosamunde String Quartet has performed in Asheville (NC), Bloomington (IN), Boston (MA), Cincinnati and Cleveland (OH), New York City (in the fabled Town Hall), Pittsburgh (PA), Washington DC, and Toronto (ON). Masterclasses and residencies at the Curtis Institute, Carnegie Mellon, and Morningside Music Bridge in Boston have also been an important part of their touring plans. The quartet looks forward to its forthcoming debut on the UMS series in Ann Arbor in Spring 2025, among other highlights.
